Unless It's PC at UT, It's O-U-T

(AgapePress) - An attorney with a leading public-interest law firm says the University of Texas is awash in "political correctness," and UT is attempting to silence any views that disagree with the liberal left.

The Alliance Defense Fund has filed suit in federal court on behalf of Justice For All, a student pro-life group at the university. Attorney Benjamin Bull says the suit challenges 11 different policies that have been used to restrict the rights of pro-life students while allowing "politically correct," liberal left-wing groups to operate unchecked.

"The bottom line is that the university has used these policies to essentially ban religious and pro-life expression on campus, preventing these students from engaging in the marketplace of ideas, while encouraging pro-abortion expression and doing everything in their power to ban one side of the pro-life debate from the university," Bull says.

The attorney says university officials do not want any speech that is not "politically correct" to be heard on campus. "I think on campuses today, especially the University of Texas at Austin, that far-left, extreme liberals have taken over the university," he says, "and unless you engage in expression that they agree with and they like, they will do everything in their power to censor it."

Bull says university officials censored a display by the pro-life group, then allowed pro-abortion hecklers to disrupt them -- and also allowed a UT professor to use a bullhorn to drown out the pro-life students.
