Student Group Pushes for 'Gender Neutral' Bathrooms

(AgapePress) - A traditional family values advocate says a proposal to provide "gender neutral" restrooms at colleges and universities is the latest example of the decline of society.

The United States Students Association is urging the nation's colleges and universities to provide single-stall "gender neutral" restrooms to accommodate students who have had sex-change operations and cannot decide if they are a man or a woman. That's according to Peter LaBarbera of the Culture and Family Institute.

"If you listen to gay activists, society needs to accommodate every perversion and every self-identity confusion," LaBarbera says. "[Now they are] asking universities -- and pretty soon, they'll be asking all businesses to do this -- to spend money to accommodate this odd identity called 'transgender'."

According to LaBarbera, since the introduction of indoor plumbing, the system of men's and ladies' rooms has worked just fine, and that should not be changed just to pacify the homosexual agenda. "We're seeing gay activists, and now their transgender allies ... asking for all these changes to be instituted in the law, in colleges and schools, and also in businesses -- and it just seems so bizarre," he says. "There was a time when it was pretty simple: there was a men's room, and there's was a ladies' room."

LaBarbera says "transgenders" are emerging as the vocal minority in the homosexual movement. He says these are people who believe a person's sexual identity is defined by what they think -- and not by what "biological parts" were provided to them by the Creator.
