Homosexual Lobbyist in White House? If So, Who Is It?

By Bill Fancher and Rusty Pugh

(AgapePress) - Thanks to the controversy surrounding recent actions in the Republican Party, the issue of homosexuality appears to have moved to the front of the conservative, pro-family debate. Long-time supporters of the GOP are asking: Does my party really believe in traditional values? Or is it just lip service?

Since taking office, the Bush Administration has come under fire from pro-family organizations for making controversial homosexual appointments and for meetings with homosexual advocacy groups.

Genevieve Wood of the Family Research Council says it is not clear just yet who is pushing the homosexual agenda at the White House.

"There not a particular name that we can put out there and say 'This is who is leading the strategy,'" Wood says, "but it is concerning that this Administration has made several pro-homosexual appointments to key positions -- and that they are not willing to speak out [against homosexuality]."

Wood says as soon as the identity of the homosexual lobbyist is determined, it will be made public. In the meantime, the White House continues to anger the pro-family lobby.

Michigan Law
Meanwhile, a Michigan pro-family activist and long-time warrior against the homosexual agenda in his state says a proposed bill aimed at promoting homosexual sex in public places reveals a callous disregard for public health.

Gary Glenn
State representative Steve Tobocman wants to do away with Michigan's Gross Indecency law. He claims it is discriminatory toward homosexuals.

But Gary Glenn with the American Family Association of Michigan says if homosexual activists want the gross indecency law applied less often, then they should stop promoting and engaging in unhealthy sexual activity in public facilities.

"There's only one reason that the current law is used against individuals engaged in homosexual acts in public places," Glenn says, "and that is because sex acts committed in highway rest stops, public library restrooms, [and] other public places such as those are overwhelmingly homosexual in nature."

Glenn says the irresponsible legislation aside, individuals who engage in homosexual behavior do not have a right, legal or otherwise, to threaten public health and deny other citizens a minimal degree of public decency. He says current Michigan law protects families' ability to visit a public park or highway rest area without being exposed to life-threatening homosexual activity.
