(AgapePress) - The leader of a group dedicated to preserving family values says America needs to take notice -- homosexual activists are using the public school system to further their agenda.

The National Education Association has given its blessing to the homosexual movement, according to Linda Harvey, who heads the group Mission America. She says as with the most recent case in Santa Fe, New Mexico, public schools are increasingly feeling the pressure to promote the homosexual lifestyle. With the backing of the NEA and most other professional education organizations, Harvey says homosexual indoctrination programs are invading America's classrooms, starting in kindergarten.

"People need to wake up to what this means," Harvey says. "This doesn't really just mean that the so-called 'religious right' will be silenced. It means that any parent, student, or teacher who has a traditional view of sexuality, marriage, traditional values is going to be silenced eventually unless people stand up and call a halt to this insidious agenda."

However, Harvey says there are many fine teachers, some of whom are even NEA delegates who are waking up to this agenda and taking steps to oppose it. But she says she worries that some "behind the scenes" work will be going on.

"Now that the NEA's resolution has gone to a committee, [I fear] it will be manipulated there and will simply start 'showing up,' " she says. "Now we know that this is just 'showing up' in schools, with or without the NEA's involvement, but the NEA's overt blessing is what's being talked about now."

Harvey voiced her deep concern about the NEA resolution shortly before the organization's annual convention in early July, urging the educators' group to "let our children go." In a commentary published on the Internet, she called the NEA's plans to continue its push of the homosexual agenda "another new twist in the seemingly infinite ways to assault our kids."

Harvey also believes homosexual activists are attempting to indoctrinate children to their lifestyle in order to perpetuate their existence, since they have one obvious shortcoming -- the inability to reproduce among themselves.

Label It 'Hate'
According to Harvey, the homosexual movement has one goal: to silence any opposition to their lifestyle. That is done, Harvey says, by labeling any opposition to their lifestyle as "hate."

"Once they have defined something as 'hate,' they feel perfectly justified in discriminating against conservatism of traditional values," she says. "That's what's really insidious about this [movement] is that they have put all of the objections to homosexuality in a category called 'hate.' "

Once an issue can be placed in the "hate" category, Harvey says, "it's no longer considered legitimate debate" -- and legitimate debate, she says, is something homosexual activists do not want because there is no evidence to prove homosexuality is inborn or that it is a beneficial, or at least a neutral, behavior. Harvey says the lifestyle is not beneficial. In fact, she says, it is medically proven to be harmful, and it is changeable.
