'Bride's' Magazine -- Another Example of Mainstream Media Pushing Homosexuality as 'Normal'

(AgapePress) - A pro-family group says a decision by Bride's magazine to run a feature article on same-sex marriage is just the latest example of the media promoting the homosexual agenda.

As reported earlier this week, the latest edition of Bride's magazine contains, for the first time, an article dealing with homosexual marriage. The magazine's editor has defended the decision, saying it is just a reflection that same-sex marriages are becoming more mainstream in today's culture.

But Genevieve Wood of the Family Research Council is not buying that. She tells Cybercast News that while the mainstream media is pushing the homosexual agenda and wanting the American public to embrace it as just another lifestyle choice, she is not convinced that society as a whole is actually doing that.

"We believe when the public has to take a hard look at the homosexual lifestyle ... they are not going to be supportive of granting marriage to homosexual couples," Wood told Cybercast News.

A recent report from Associated Press indicates that may indeed be the case. In a poll taken in early May -- prior to the Supreme Court's decision that ruled a Texas sodomy law unconstitutional -- 60% of those polled said homosexual acts should be legal and 35% said they should not. But a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll conducted over the weekend shows that now 48% feel such acts should be legal and 46% feel they should not. AP says the recent pool reveals a growing opposition to homosexual behavior. [See Related Story]

Wood also chastised the growing number of newspapers which have started running announcements of homosexual weddings in the same section as traditional wedding notices. She says given the fact that same-sex weddings are still illegal in the U.S., the topic belongs on the editorial pages -- because that is where political debate is supposed to take place.
