LOS ANGELES, CA (AgapePress) - The Christian Educators Association International has a new leader. The torch of responsibility at CEAI has been passed to Finn Laursen, who previously served as the organization's Great Lakes regional director.
Laursen replaces longtime leader Forrest Turpen, who is making the transition to retirement but will continue to serve as chief operating officer. Turpen says he is confident of Laursen's ability to lead, and he is praying the Jabez prayer for the organization's steady progress.
"I'm going to continue to pray that God will bless CEAI, and that we will see a great growth of God's kingdom right there in public schools. And I will pray for Finn as he gives us the vision to move ahead," he says.
Laursen has spent years reaching out to Christian teachers as a school superintendent in Ohio. He says Christian educators can change America's educational system, and his vision for CEAI includes encouraging teachers to think of themselves as missionaries.
Turpen calls Laursen "a team player" and says he looks forward to seeing how Jesus Christ will "bless, encourage and equip teachers all across America" under the new director's leadership.
