(AgapePress) - A former homosexual who was blasted for his biblical beliefs last week on national television is encouraging Christians to pray for popular talk-show host Bill O'Reilly.
Last week on The O'Reilly Factor, Stephen Bennett -- a Christian recording artist who is a former homosexual -- was invited to talk about his ministry, the devastating effects of homosexuality on the nation, and the push for homosexual rights. During the interview, O'Reilly -- a professed Catholic -- called Bennett a "religious fanatic" because he believes the Bible literally.

Bennett says O'Reilly, a hero to many conservatives, was not interested in hearing his viewpoint and had only one goal in mind for the interview.
"Bill O'Reilly, number one, revealed more to America about himself in that four-minute segment than he did in his entire six-year reign at Fox," Bennett says. "Bill O'Reilly has always been my champion, of course, on so many other issues -- but I think that through his own mouth and his heart, he exposed who he really is."
Bennett encourages Christians to pray that O'Reilly will give his life to Christ. "[O'Reilly] has embraced the homosexual agenda lovingly," he says.
In a recent commentary for AgapePress about the O'Reilly-Bennett interview, Gregory Rummo quotes O'Reilly from his book, The O'Reilly Factor, published in 2000: "The most important thing I can say about religion is that it's a good thing for all of us to have. It doesn't matter what you believe -- as long as you believe in something."
Rummo, evaluating that statement in light of the Bennett interview, says that when a person claims, "it doesn't matter what you believe," moral absolutes are negated -- and that when there is no absolute truth, everything reduces to that person's opinion.
